A Conversation with J. Everett Prewitt Jan. 31 at E. Cleveland Public Library


On Saturday, January 31at 2 pm, spend your afternoon at the East Cleveland Public Library, indulging in a literary & lyrical feast featuring a dialogue with Cleveland native/


author J. Everett Prewitt and singer/songwriter Melrose Eve. The event will be moderated by author/journalist/entrepreneur - and current President of the Greater Cleveland Association of Black Journalists - Rhonda Crowder.


Prewitt's 2005 debut novel, Snake Walkers, won the Bronze award (General Fiction category) of ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award. His fourth, and most recent work is his autobiography, A Life in the Sunshine, was published in 2025.


Also a Cleveland native, Melrose Eve got her start as a child singing in local churches. She is currently working on her debut album.
