Drive Cleveland is a golf outing fundraiser to support The 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland and the Greater Cleveland Association of Black Journalists (GCLEABJ).

With The 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland and the Greater Cleveland Association of Black Journalists seeking to host individual golf outings in 2024 and a few members serving both organizations, the chapters’ presidents decided it’s best to join forces and demonstrate the power of collaboration - thus birthing the inaugural Drive Cleveland Golf Outing.

The event is titled Drive Cleveland as a nod to both groups’ mission to make our city a better place for all people.

Supporters of Drive Cleveland will experience a great day on the green, at the beautiful  Manakiki Golf Course, while supporting these two worthy organizations. All proceeds from Drive Cleveland will be equally divided between
GCLEABJ and The Cleveland 100.

About Drive Cleveland

The Collaborators

100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland, Inc.

Established in 1997, as part of 100 Black Men of America, Inc., the mission of The 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland, Inc. is to improve the quality of
life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans. The 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland Chapter achieves this mission by providing a variety of educational, informative, and uplifting programs
for the whole family.

With mentoring being the essence of the Greater Cleveland 100, members serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing their diverse talents to create an environment in which Cleveland’s youth are motivated to achieve and are empowered to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of their communities. And, through their signature programs of economic development, education, health & wellness, leadership development, and mentoring, the 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland aims to be
the city’s premier mentoring organization.

Greater Cleveland Association

of Black Journalists

Association of Black Journalists (GCLEABJ) chapter
is to serve and strengthen the community by honestly reflecting the past, accurately reporting the present
with perspective and providing support, inspiration, fellowship and opportunities for journalists of color.

An affiliate of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), this chapter re-established itself after years of hiatus in 2013. GCLEABJ is composed
of print, radio, TV and digital journalists as well as public relations and communications professionals
from across Northeast Ohio. Since inception, GCLEABJ has hosted a regional conference which led to being named co-chapter of the year by NABJ in 2016, and won the bid to host the 2025 NABJ Convention and Career Fair. Core programming of GCLEABJ consists of inspiring, training and supporting future journalists of color as well as advocating for inclusion within the media industry.

Funds raised from Drive Cleveland will be used to support The 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland’s mentoring programs
help Greater Cleveland Association of Black Journalists provide scholarships to the next generation of journalists of color as
well prepare to host NABJ 50th Anniversary Convention and Career Fair in Cleveland in 2025.
